For the Love of Sandwiches: Frank's Deli

Ah … Franks Deli.

A handful of you guys have been telling me to go to Franks for a while now, and I am so so glad I finally did. They are right off of 23rd ave. and Camelback.

The sandwiches are tasty, the meat is piled high, the bread is quality, and the people, THE PEOPLE are awesome.

On my first trip, I got the NY Style and The Tony both were just what I wanted! NY Style is a lil sweeter … both sandwiches are huge and under $10 I also got a cannoli, and it might be one of my favs! The pastrami looks bomb too, well I am sure it is all great, but this is just what I got/tried so far!

Franks is now my weekly go-to! Everyone needs a weekly neighborhood sandwich spot. I have been back a couple of times and every time it doesn’t disappoint!

I mean, that’s all you really need to know to go eat there, but I want to talk a little bit more about the place, or a little bit about the story I was told.

Gus, the son of Frank, who now runs the spot, told me that his father and his father’s brothers opened the deli YEARS ago, like forty years ago … or something like that. Day in and day out making great sandwiches for the Phoenix community.

They used to sell pizzas and other things but over the years, they have simplified their menu, and now they do what they do best. Sandwiches. Oh and cannolis, and cheesecake! Love a good cheesecake!

Gus and I seemed to connect on the beauty of simple menus, it takes a level of skill to do a few things and do it well, and we shared our disdain for new, trendy places that do a little TOO much. You know what I am talking about …

Go eat at Franks Deli. Support a good family.

Love you Forks,

Sid
